11 : First Make – 2

“Hmm……”
In conclusion, it seemed like it was just easy to curse and grant an inventory ability to a bag-shaped object.
After all, without an inventory the difficulty in the game’s progression would be high. So ultimately, it was a decision which took unnecessary stress into account.
Those who approved of restrictive rules such as no inventory might be a bit displeased though.

“For the time being, I’ve managed to make 2 weapons.”
I rubbed the two Poisonous Bite Rat’s front teeth together and against the floor as well to sharpen them, processing them so they could be used as knives.
On top of that, I’ve also wrapped the extra cables and fur around the handles to make them easier to hold.
After I finished the processing, I placed them on the grudge table and applied the curses.

“The first one was purely strengthened.”
During the cursing procedure, I earnestly directed the desire of a stronger poison at the first blade.

“Well, even though there was a bit of risk involved, this was considered a success wasn’t it?”
The result was that the poison had become more powerful in proportion to my level.
Currently, only 2 levels would be added, but eventually it could be affected by a fairly high number.

“The second blade…… I guess I could use something for dismantling.”
While placing a curse on the second one, I hoped for something without poison.

“Even then, the meat would still be poisonous wouldn’t it?”
The poison was weakened as an outcome, but it wasn’t able to fully get rid of the poison.
This was probably because the origin of the materials came from a monster that used poison.
With this alone, the importance of the compatibility between the desires and the materials can be clearly observed.

“Well, it was better compared to the third and fourth ones.”
Speaking of which, I had a total of 4 Poisonous Bite Rat front teeth.
Thus, I tried cursing the remaining two with different desires.
The third one was sent feelings of an even stronger poison, one that exceeded 1000 in numbers.
And as for the fourth one, I poured in thoughts for something like a usable inventory.
I cursed each of them respectively.
The results of the curse were……

“Both of them completely turned into dust and disappeared.”
The two knives would disintegrate as soon as the fog cleared.
Vanishing without a trace.

“So, I don’t know the full details, but for now, it appears that if I apply a curse with feelings beyond my current situation, the curse will end up failing and disappearing.”
If the nature and disposition of the curse wasn’t appropriate with what I was aiming for, it basically wouldn’t be successful.
Regarding questions such as, which materials were usable to what extent, or what shape best suits a certain kind of curse…… It was a diligent matter which you would most likely have to verify for yourself.
Well, if I were to obtain a rare material and have it disappear after getting carried away with excessive cursing, that would’ve been bad, so I was at least glad I managed to realize this beforehand.

“…… This, was probably something you would normally be taught to by an NPC as a player in a regular starting area…… Well, things like this happen too, which is why the contract was necessary I guess.”
I look over at the mark for the BBS on the settings screen.
Undoubtedly, viewing the bulletin board would give you all the information you’d need up to this point.
Even though I got used to my levitation and insect wings, I still spent all of that precious time on it.
However, I wasn’t planning on looking at the bulletin board any time soon.
I had an uncommon dungeon start with no other players nearby after all.
Until I reach a place where I’m stuck…… It wasn’t such a bad idea at all to just carry on without viewing BBS for at least a day.

“Next was inspecting the effects of the poison.”
Then, since we’re here, it was better to check what could be checked before it was too late.
With that reason, I took the Poisonous Bite Rat’s Tooth Knife and lightly cut my finger.
If CNP was a game that had friendly fire active in parties, it shouldn’t be strange for self injuries to exist too.
Also, since I was in the safety area, I absolutely wouldn’t die. Still, it wasn’t as if this game was exactly a kind one.
Because of that, it was possible to inflict self injuries without any problems.

“Hmm.”
In the upper left corner of my vision, below the HP and satiety bars, an indicator stating Poison (1) appeared.
Along with it, a slight feeling of sickness followed.
Then 10 seconds after it occurred, I took 1 damage and the poison display went away.

“Now, next was this.”
Continuing where we left off, I cut my arm with the other tooth knife.
My HP bar decreased in response to the damage and the effects of the curse. Meanwhile, the display now showed Poison (12).

“It first starts off at 12 damage.”
When 10 seconds passed, I took 12 damage and the display subsequently changed to Poison (11).
After a while, the numbers diminished and every 10 second interval, I was accordingly hit with 11, 10, 9 damage and so on

“Then, to follow up, I’ll try consecutive attacks or rather, consecutive doses.”
The poison cleared up and my HP was restored so I stabbed the knife into my arm again, administering the poison before pulling it back out and piercing a different spot with the knife.
This was repeated several times.
The first stab promptly inflicted the standard Poison (12), the second gave Poison (24) and after that, the maximum gain was 12 with the minimum being at 1 or 2, so increasing the amount yielded a lot of variations.

“Ah, this is bad. I’m starting to feel really sick…… Let’s just die and respawn again……”
When I tried to roughly exceed Poison (100), I felt sick to an extent which couldn’t be compared.
I could only describe my vision being terribly dizzy and my condition itself was becoming listless.
I don’t think I’d even be able to drink the restorative water directly in this state.
It seems like once the poison tick hit over 100, it would develop into a serious illness all at once.
Fortunately, the damage taken had also reached over 100 and every 10 seconds it would be inflicted, so dying became effortless.
With that said, I’d resigned myself to death.

≪Title, 『Poison User』 has been acquired≫

“Something showed up.”
And so, a title acquisition notification appeared synchronously with my respawn.
Right away, I examine its details.

『Poison User』
Effect : Increased chances of poisoning. (Slight)
Requirement : Inflict an amount over Poison (100) and kill a creature with the poison damage.

Behold, my poisonous power.

“Suicide was accepted for that!?”
It was a useful title, but I ended up involuntarily retorting to myself.
That said, at this rate, the rest of the damage inflicting status conditions…… Rather, maybe all of the status conditions in general would have similar titles.
It might be good to test it out if I happen to have the chance to.

“Well I guess its alright. Let’s summarize the results of the information I gathered.”
In any case, I’ve somewhat grasped the mechanics of CNP’s poison.
Regarding the poison in CNP,

・Damage was taken every 10 seconds and proportionate to the number within the parentheses.
・Once damage was received, the number in the parentheses would decrease by 1.
・When trying to add more poison to the poison’s numerical value, it was dependent on random factors. Perhaps, the poison that was added in would have its volume lessened?
・If the parenthesized number exceeds over 100, the effect progresses into a severe illness, making it evidently difficult to move around.

That pretty much sums it up.
In actuality, there might’ve been some small details I might’ve missed, but the gist of it should mostly be correct.

“Nn…… If I were to use it in combat, having the poison reach over 100 just to apply the extreme sickness and hinder movement would be first and foremost. If that wasn’t possible, then I’d like to aim for somewhere around 50 since the overall amount of damage dealt would be high. In the case that it ends up being 20 or so…… I’d probably want to combo it with something that either harasses or triggers damage.”
I’d imagine that this wasn’t too far off from its intended use.
Still, when I calculated it afterwards, if it was around Poison (45), it would deal over a total of 1000 damage.
Although, 450 seconds…… Having to buy time for a full 7 minutes and a half would be a bit of a problem.
At any rate, let’s cherish this information since it was definitely going to be helpful from now on as long as I continue to use poison.

“Nn…… For now, let’s log out once to eat dinner. After that, I can then mount a full-scale exploration of the Tower of Mice.”
I made sure to properly empty the contents of my fur bag beforehand, then logged out.
