22 : Taruwiveno – 5

“Fumu. The results of this experiment were quite good.”
Due to my『Taruwiveno』, 4 out of the 6 human-like creatures accumulated over 100 stacks of poison and died.
The 2 that fled the scene managed to take shade in a building, so I wasn’t able to bring them down, but they should’ve racked up around 30 to 40 stacks of poison.
If all goes well, the monsters in that area could kill them and maybe I’ll be able to get some of the leftover exp.
At any rate, combined with the experience from fighting Poisonous Bite Rats, I was able to level up to level 5 from this.
I’ve also obtained other results besides that.

“First of all, the range of my evil eye was certainly beyond 500 meters. Depending on the situation, the distance might not even matter as long as I could at least see it.”
The group that I targeted this time were a few hundred meters away from the Tower of Mice.
The building I was in was around 50 meters high.
If I took these factors into consideration, the direct distance should be about 500 meters or more.

“The extent of its effectiveness were roughly in accordance with the details seen before. 2 shots were needed to convert the poison into the serious illness and down them.”
Just as the specifics had stated for『Magic Eye Of Poison・1』, the amount of poison that was given by my evil eye was determined by the curse concentration around the target.”
Previously, when I’d taken a gander at the curse concentration outside of the Tower of Mice, the number displayed was at 5.
So even if all 13 of my evil eyes were at full output, the maximum stacks of poison I could apply was 65.
Thus, for it to become a severe illness…… 2 volleys were required to make the amount of poison exceed over 100.

“Attacking with each of the eyes separately doesn’t seem to be a problem either.”
Firing off the evil eyes on different targets had turned out well.
If used properly, it’s possible that I could use one half of the eyes to poison my target first and foremost, then use the other half to keep the perimeter in check.
Other than that…… If I knew the approximate amount of the target’s HP, I might also be able to administer an adequate dosage of my evil eye.
At any rate, there’s no doubt that this’ll be useful.

“The cost was true to its aspects and one salvo consumed 130 HP……”
Since the curse concentration in the Tower of Mice was 10…… Each eye would cause 10 damage to me, totaling a cost of 130 damage.
My HP was just a little over 1000 so…… Around 10% of my HP would be reduced per salvo.
If it was a situation where I could arbitrarily attack, the natural regeneration and potion kettle should suffice to some degree but…… It’d be fairly risky if I did so in close combat.

“Hmm, I guess the cost and the formula for the amount of the effect were likely to become obstacles after all.”
In order to dismantle the rat corpses, I went back to the safety area.
However, on the way there, I mulled a bit over the battle not too long ago.

“If my opponent was in room where the curse concentration was low, the amount of the effect would lessen for each attack and the cost to effect ratio would decline. This was likely the biggest issue.”
Exactly, this was the greatest problem that my『Magic Eye Of Poison・1』currently had.
Regarding the experiment this time, inside the Tower of Mice, my evil eye was able to bring the level of poison to severity with just a single barrage. Yet, if I used it on opponents that were outside, 2 were required instead.
The cost was doubled with just simple calculations.

“However, it’s impossible to reduce the cost on my end unless the formula was changed.”
Nevertheless, reducing the cost of 『Magic Eye Of Poison・1』through decreasing the curse concentration would just be a suicidal act.
With my number of abnormalities, if I entered an area with a curse concentration of 8 or less, I’ll be afflicted with a curse concentration deficiency status condition.
There’s no guarantee that it’ll be safe even at curse concentration 9.
In other words, the only way to improve the cost was to change the overall formula and as of right now, I have no idea how to do that.

“To increase the amount of the effect…… I guess either the curse concentration around the opponent would have to be raised or the formula would have to be changed.”
If that’s the case then improving the amount of the effect was possible right?
By all means, I wanted to discover a way to increase the curse concentration around my enemies.
If I could do that, then I should be able to leave the Tower of Mice by raising the curse concentration around me as well.
When it came to changing the formula…… As expected, the method was unknown.
However, it wasn’t like there wasn’t any hope is what I believed.

“Since『Magic Eye Of Poison・1』has a 1 attached to it, it should have upwards compatibility too. If that’s the case, then there must be some points that the current spell could improve on. I didn’t know what they were exactly, but if done properly, I’d possibly be able to strengthen the amount of the effect that way.”
Right, I still wasn’t finished with『Magic Eye Of Poison・1』yet and moreover, the game itself had only just started.
If so, then there should be improvements or reforms as long as I steadily keep on progressing.
The problem was figuring out the method behind those improvements though……

“2 Poisonous Bite Rats and 2 Poison Spitting Rats corpses, huh……”
Upon arriving at the safety area, I took out the bodies that were stored in the fur bag.
Since they were defeated with just the poison from the magic eye, the spotless furs were in a pristine condition without the existence of even a single scratch.
If I precisely dismantled these, I’d be able to obtain a lot of various raw materials.
And by various, I mean I’d acquire materials such as the usual fur, bones, and front teeth of the Poisonous Bite Rats to the new materials from the Poison Spitting Rats.
Also…… The Poison Spitting Rats had an attack that projected poison towards me.

“Well, it’s probably safer currently to repeat the same method for strengthening, right?”
My eyes turned towards the inside of the Poison Spitting Rat’s mouth.
If it’s exactly as I suspected then, there should be a mechanism somewhere in the mouth that produced its poison.
Once I find it, I’ll reproduce the poison, gather it up, and change it using the grudge table…… After all, it might be possible to enhance the『Magic Eye Of Poison・1』with this.

“Alright, let’s appraise while I’m dismantling.”
With the 『Appraisal Loupe』 held against my left eye, I used the tooth knife and pierced through the nape of the Poison Spitting Rat’s corpse.
