Retrieval of the Poisonous Bite Rat’s corpse was a success. I decided to transport the dead body to the safety area before starting my dismantling work.
The reason was simple. If I just operated in that room, it felt like Poisonous Bite Rats would end up coming out of the other offices.
Also, the rebar with attached concrete was recollected as well.

“Now, it’s current status was……”
I pointed the『Appraisal Loupe』towards the carcass of the Poisonous Bite Rat and used it.

“It’s durability didn’t decrease naturally. The small portion that lessened might’ve been from the scratched fur caused by dragging it here. Ah, but there were also sections that were blemished which I don’t remember having dragged. Did the areas that the poison didn’t circulate into end up disintegrating normally?
It wasn’t rapidly decreasing like it was back when I looked at the Poisonous Bite Rat’s blood mid-battle.
However, if you looked closer at the corpse, the tip of the claw, the tip of the tail, a section of the fur, the bones inside the body, and the muscles all seemed to be damaged.

“Nn-…… There was a limit to how much curse could be stored. That’s what the corruption stat represented. When corruption reaches 100, it becomes fully cursed and in this situation, the disintegration curse wouldn’t come into effect. There were a lot of parts that were still vague however…… For now, if you utilize a curse to kill your opponents, they won’t be completely disintegrated.”
It would be best if there was a curse that just rose the corruption stat wouldn’t it.
If I could find a way to use such a curse, it seemed like my collection of raw materials would overflow.

“Then, shall we begin the dismantling?”
Once again, I insert the Poisonous Bite Rat’s front tooth into the open wound on the back of the Poisonous Bite Rat’s neck.
Then, by using the front tooth as a knife, the Poisonous Bite Rat’s body was opened up.

“Ahh I see. If there’s not enough curse, the moment it comes in contact with the open air, it turns out like this.”
When the Poisonous Bite Rat’s body was opened, some parts, primarily the internal organs disintegrated and disappeared.
Looking at it again from the outside, a portion of bones and muscles were disintegrated as well.
Well, if I can’t obtain those items anymore then it can’t be helped, so I continued disassembling the Poisonous Bite Rat’s carcass.
Thereupon, the fur, bone, heart, and of course, the front tooth was all obtained.

“Ah, my hunger is decreasing now.”
And I did just obtain some meat as a matter of fact.
The combat and exploration I’ve done thus far brought my satiety down below 50.

“……”
No fire.
A way to create one couldn’t be found here either.
Its exceedingly fresh but, it’s rat meat, and moreover, it’s polluted with poison so it wasn’t exactly decent meat.
However, if satiety reached 0, a status condition called starvation would be afflicted, seemingly decreasing your HP and making it difficult to move around.
And so, in the safety area, there happens to be this all-you-can-drink restorative water.

“Fuu, this isn’t grotesque monster-like behavior in any way at all.”
I resolve myself and sink my teeth into the Poisonous Bite Rat’s raw meat.
There was a futile firmness to it, making it tender.
And unappetizing!
The more I chew, the worse it tastes!

I feel sick!
My stomach hurts!
My HP was vigorously falling!
I gulp down the restorative water!
This wasn’t tasty either!
But, complete recovery!
In that case, let’s continue eating!
Rip off the meat clinging behind the pelt and feast!
Processed the pelt and restored my hunger, two birds with one stone!

Less than last time, but once again, restorative water!
Healed!

A lot of strange titles arrived!?
About half of the entire body was consumed!
If so, keep eating!
Satiety was completely recovered but, there’s no point in leaving remains so, eat!
At any rate, the pain would go away when I returned back to real life!
I’m aware that I can eat therefore, I’ve made up my mind to eat and so, as long as I live, I will eat!
That is my choice!
Somehow, it feels like the taste has gotten a bit decent!

Then, with this forcibly lifted enthusiasm, eat!

Eat without leaving behind a single piece of flesh!
While we’re at it, the heart will also be devoured!
Compared to the other parts of the body, it more or less looks good, so eat!
Tastes fucking terrible!

My clash with the Poisonous Bite Rat’s corpse took around an hour.
Among the Poisonous Bite Rat parts that were rolled out in front of me, the meat had all disappeared.
I don’t know if decomposition was a factor in CNP, but for the time being, the pelt and bones don’t seem like they’d decay.

≪Taru has risen to level 2≫
“How did I level up by just mindlessly munching on meat…”
When I drank my after-meal restorative water, a fanfare-like sound rung, followed by a hovering sentence informing me that I’ve leveled up.
I racked my brain around why I leveled up from just having a meal, then after pondering a bit, the answer came.

“Aah, so that’s how it is. CNP’s level was more so curse affinity as in, to what extent were you familiar with curses. Which could mean the most important thing would be to utilize a curse. I used my cursed Poisonous Bite Rat’s front tooth to scrape off the flesh so that was considered as experience huh.”
However, on the contrary, doesn’t this imply that if you don’t use a curse during combat, no matter how much you fight, you won’t be able to level up?
For example, using the rebar with attached concrete to singled-mindedly beat something and the such.

“……Ah. It wasn’t particularly a big problem if I don’t raise my level was it.”
I used the『Appraisal Loupe』on myself to inspect the fruits of my labor from the level up and the effects of my newly given titles.
Then, after the results of the appraisal appeared, I was immediately able to discern that it wouldn’t be a problem even if you don’t raise your level.

HP grew no more than 10 and Interference increased by a mere 1.
In CNP, if the head is destroyed, its an instant death and if a vital area is struck, the damage was merciless, so adding 10 to HP held no significance.
Interference was perhaps something similar to a coefficient and increasing this by just 1 wouldn’t make much of a difference either.

“Well, come to think of it, even with a level 5 Poisonous Bite Rat, defeating it was effortless when you grasped the method.”
If the level disparity was something like 20 or 30, then needless to say, the difference would probably escalate.
However, even if there was such a level difference, it’s likely that by utilizing curses in fights, an easy reversal could be made, couldn’t it.
There was no way around such a premonition.

“Aah but, you need to level up in order to handle stronger weapons so there was a meaning to raising it. How interesting.”
Well, it’s not like I lose anything from increasing it so let’s raise it as much as I can.
Therefore, no matter how high the enemy’s level is, I should be ready and non-hesitant.

“Also, the raw materials section in the owned items display will be left as is. The amount was far too many, so it seemed like it was going to end up being terrible.”
For now, I’ll tweak the display settings.
The status display’s owned items now only showed proper equipment.
It’d be a nuisance otherwise.

“Now then, next is titles.”
After finishing the adjustment, I check the details for the 4 newly obtained titles.

And there was beginner or 1 attached to them so higher ranking titles existed too.
I’ve already confirmed that even though it was tiny, there was still an effect, thus I have high expectations for it in the future.
Though if there was a title I’d want to show to other players, It’d have to be the cool『Spawn Of Jugemu』, so I left it as is.

“Now then, since I went through the trouble and did my best for these, let’s make various things with the bones and pelts.”
I’ve obtained a lot of materials from dismantling the Poisonous Bite Rat.
However, there was still more to acquire.
Because of that, I picked up the Poisonous Bite Rat’s pelt and began the processing.

¹ : 毒を食らわば皿まで, If you’re going to eat poison, then you might as well go as far as licking the plate.
It’s a fairly straightforward proverb basically saying if you do something bad, may as well just stick with it. There is a similar English expression which goes, “In for a penny, in for a pound.”

The Corrosion stat was renamed to Corruption to avoid any mix-ups with the disintegration effect and to clarify its meaning. 浸食 is normally interpreted as erosion, Here, its referring to the subject being eroded or corroded by curses. That being the case, corruption would probably coincide better with how the author wanted to convey the meaning. Though, that’s not to say erosion/corrosion is wrong at all and you’re free to still think of it as such if its more coherent that way.
