23 : Taruwiveno – 6


“Nom nom…… Nom nom……”
I continued to dismantle the Poison Spitting Rat while chewing on the flesh that was stripped off of its body.
Then, each part that was removed was inspected via the『Appraisal Loupe』.
Though, because of the dismantling, the inside of the safety area fairly reeked of blood. On top of that, it had gotten completely stained in red…… I might eventually have to clean this up soon before it gets worse.

“Hm…… There’s not much to say about its upper jaw, but the lower jaw…… It’s a bit intriguing.”
Well then, this was the result of all the skinning I’ve done.
I’ve managed to get my hands on some very interesting materials.

Upon coming in contact with the front teeth, the venom that is produced by a curse is projected at high speed towards the end of the tooth.

“So this was also a curse, wasn’t it.”
It was a venom creating curse that was particularly able to shoot out rapidly.
If this curse-made venom was able to freely produce itself, then it could maybe be used as some kind of crossbow or bow as well.
Assembling something like that…… I guess it’s not as if it’s impossible.
Only, it’ll be difficult to just use the drops of venom harvested from the Poisonous Bite Rat’s front tooth, right?
If I recall correctly, the properties of the Poisonous Bite Rat’s venom don’t show any effect unless it entered the bloodstream.

“Also, I can’t find the main thing I was looking for.”
In that case, then I’ll search for the Poison Spitting Rat’s toxin producing mechanism, was what I thought but……. I couldn’t find anything at all.
I figured that it would’ve formed from the salivary gland and checked, but there was no reaction.
That being so, I tried looking towards the stomach and throat too, but there weren’t any reactions here either.

“I was thinking that altering the Poison Spitting Rat’s venom via the grudge table could’ve led into strengthening 『Taruwiveno』though.”
This was only most likely, but the Poison Spitting Rat’s venom was probably something different altogether from the Poisonous Bite Rat’s venom as well.
If I could make an item similar to the one that gave me power when I drank it, there was a possibility that it could lead towards the enhancement of my『Magic Eye Of Poison・1』.
But even so, if I couldn’t find the mechanism behind the generation of its venom, I wouldn’t be able to put that into practice.

“…… I guess, I might as well catch it as it comes flying out.”
Perhaps the venom of the Poison Spitting Rat may have originated from a sorcery that the Poison Spitting Rat has to produce out of its own volition.
In that case, then it seems like there wouldn’t be any sort of specific mechanism that would create poison inside the Poison Spitting Rat’s body and if I wanted to obtain it, I’ll probably have no choice but to somehow collect it mid-combat.

“After I’m done with the dismantling, should I try to make something for that too?”
I proceeded with the dismantling of the 2nd Poison Spitting Rat corpse and acquired similar raw materials as the first.
Then, I also dismantled the Poisonous Bite Rat’s dead body and fastened a portion of its flesh to the ribs, which I laid out on top of the table to create dried meat.
Sooner or later, I would need to make a prototype for a portable item that restores my hunger and have it at the ready.

“Let’s see……”
Since dismantling was over with, next was to create some items that would be necessary in the near future.
First, I’ll be making an item that’s similar in shape to when I was forming the fur bag
I conjoined the Poisonous Bite Rat’s lower jaw and fur together and made a funnel-like part to catch poison and a bag section to store it.
Then, to reinforce the funnel portion, I attached some ribs and fixated it with a thin string made from the fur.

“Catch and store…… Catch and store……”
In any case, the first concern and objective was to apply a curse with the grudge table.
Basically, I’ll be catching and retrieving the venom that will be launched out.
And so, the end result was an item such as this.

“Alright, now if I get into a one-on-one battle with a Poison Spitting Rat, this’ll allow me to turn it into a war of attrition and accumulate some venom.”
With this, collecting the venom from the Poison Spitting Rat would also…… Well, I could probably do it if I tried.
If anything, the problem wouldn’t be creating a one-on-one situation, but rather, the question of whether or not I’ll be able to actually catch the venom with the bag.

“Now then, one more.”
Since I was already at it, I decided to make another item.
To start off, I collected the venom from the Poisonous Bite Rat’s front teeth, then mixed it together with the brains of the Poison Spitting Rat before smearing it on top of a Poison Spitting Rat’s fur.
By combining such a profane liquid with the blood that had gathered on the floor of the safety area, both sides of the fur had truly become a fittingly toxic color.
After that, I used the Poison Spitting Rat’s lower jawbone as a frame, wrapped the aforementioned Poison Spitting Rat fur around it and finally, tied it together with the usual cable.
Then, I placed it on the grudge table.

“So that it becomes a strong armor…… So that it becomes a strong armor……”
The feelings that I put into it was that simple was best.
That way, it’ll become something that was easy to understand and use.
Then, when the cursed fog cleared up, a pretty sappanwood-colored pointed hat appeared on top of the grudge table.
I don’t remember shaping it into that though…… Something must’ve happened probably. I directed my『Appraisal Loupe』towards it to see.

A pointed hat made from using the materials of rats that possessed poison.
Sometimes it’ll move, sniff, and cry by itself. No one but the owner can hear this and it’ll quiet down if you so wish.
Although it’s weak, it’s endowed with physical resistance, lightning resistance, and poison resistance. These abilities will strengthen against the outside world.
Caution : There is a decrease in fire resistance while wearing this. (Small)

The design itself looked to be similar to those pointed hats that a witch from a fairy-tale would wear. The pointed end of it was crooked as to say, and its color was in a charming sappanwood dye. You wouldn’t believe that its original materials had been from the rats.
Its abilities also weren’t bad, so I put it on without hesitation.

“Chuu chuu chuu……”
“Ah, it’s really squeaking”
Upon putting on the Poison Rat’s Pointed Hat, I had certainly began hearing noises such as a rat’s chirping next to my ear as well as a sniffing-like sound.
From what I could see with the eyes on the ends of my insect wings, the tip of the hat was also subtly moving around.

“Well, as long as it doesn’t do anything that interferes with combat or when I’m using the grudge table, I guess there isn’t much to complain about.”
“Chuu!”
Somehow, I’ve created a strange object.
Could this be considered a cursed armor in a sense, I wonder.
At any rate, today’s login time will soon reach its limit.
I tidied up the inside of the safety area before logging out.
